Learn more about KGGD

Kathryn Grill Hoeppel received her BA in Communication Design from Kutztown University, Kutztown, PA, graduating Magna Cum Laude, in 1996. Kathryn has spent 13 dynamic years in the design industry, and in a variety of different markets including central Pennsylvania, Colorado Springs, Denver, and most recently, the metro Washington, D.C. area. Her depth and breadth of experience are borne from diverse professional settings including fast-paced ad agencies, boutique design studios, corporate structure, academia, and most recently, her own home studio. Kathryn has years of experience not only designing award-winning materials from start to finish for clients, but also is an adept production manager, a skilled project trafficer, and a nimble manager of people.

Kathryn enjoys interacting with peers and colleagues both locally and nationally; she is a member of AIGA of Washington, DC, the Washington DC InDesign User Group, and The Freelance Designer's Union in New York City. She regularly attends industry functions and professional seminars to further studio capabilities for current and future studio services. She also reaches out to industry peers in the spirit of partnership and growth — through this process of building relationships, Kathryn has established a wonderfully diverse and capable team of creative support that assists her with studio overages and supports initiatives throughout the year.

Apart from activity in the studio, Kathryn is an avid watercolorist, and has studied extensively with Matthew Daube (Pennsylvania), Thomas J. Owen (Colorado), and Alvaro Castagnet (Uruguay). She has had her work featured in several gallery showings, and even has two of her best works gone missing — stolen from a gallery several years ago...  a mystery inside an enigma.

Kathryn now calls Silver Spring, Maryland home, where she lives with her husband, Chad, and their dog, Jack.
